Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a high quality chemical solution comprised of 32.5% aqueous urea (ammonia) and 67.5% de-ionized water for specific use in SCR systems to reduce NOx emissions.

DEF is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to change the Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) emissions in diesel exhaust to Nitrogen and water. Nitrogen makes up about 78% of the air we breathe every day.

Diesel engines are required to meet stringent emissions requirements as of 2010. Many diesel engine manufacturers have chosen a technology called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to meet these requirements. When added to the exhaust gases Diesel Exhaust Fluid reduces the NOx to the EPA required levels.
